About Linear Heat Detection (LHD) Technology

A fiber optic LHD uses Ø 3 to 4mm fiber optic sensor cables, typically over lengths of several kilometers, that function as linear temperature sensors. These systems are truly distributed, i.e. respond to heat at any point along the cable equally. The result is a continuous temperature profile along the entire length of the sensor cable. According to the most important standards the fiber optic LHD is approved as a special detector in fire protection system.

FAQs

What Is the Maximum Distance That the AP Sensing’s Linear Heat Detection (LHD) N45-Series Can Cover?

The N45-Series offers the longest certified distance range available on the market and can cover up to 16km with its 4-channel configuration.

What Makes the N45-Series Suitable for Use in Harsh and Explosive Environments?

The N45-Series has undergone extensive testing for durability, including shock, vibration, and temperature stress according to multinational standards for fire protection. It also has a SIL-2 safety rating and complies with ATEX and IECEx standards, making it save for operations even in explosive environment.
