The eDTS module, integrated within AP Sensing's SmartVision Software, uses sensor fusion technology to deliver high-precision temperature monitoring across extensive distances. By combining Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) and Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS), the eDTS system sets a new standard in real-time, accurate temperature detection.

Innovative Sensor Fusion for Ultra-Precise Temperature Monitoring

The eDTS system leverages Distributed Temperature Gradient Sensing (DTGS), a functionality of AP Sensing’s DAS system, for ultra-fast and precise measurements of temperature changes. The DTGS feature detects even the smallest temperature gradient changes at every point along the optical fiber, offering sensitivity in the range of millikelvin per second (mK/s).

Through sensor fusion, the eDTS module integrates DAS and DTS measurements to provide enhanced accuracy. By using Raman DTS measurements as an absolute temperature reference, the system effectively mitigates limitations typically associated with traditional temperature sensing technologies. This combination significantly improves measurement performance, particularly over long distances.
