Raman-based Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) utilizes optical fibers to deliver continuous and accurate temperature profiles across distances of several dozen kilometers. By analyzing the intensity ratio between the Stokes and anti-Stokes bands of Raman scattering, this method effectively calculates temperature along the fiber. Raman-Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) systems are known for their high reliability, as they are unaffected by strain on the sensor fiber, ensuring accurate measurements even under mechanical stress. Using Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (OTDR), Raman-DTS is ideal for large-scale applications requiring precise, spatially resolved temperature monitoring.
